Beautification Update | Fall 2025

Published August 29, 2025

I hope everyone is appreciating the beautiful entries at Mission Ridge and Brougham! The landscapers weed all four planter boxes and the two street medians the last Saturday of the month. During the growing season (April-Oct), our landscapers mow both entrances weekly. In addition, once per month, the landscapers weed the planter boxes and medians. During the transitional months (March and November), the grass is mowed every other week. During the winter months, we stop the services altogether. In early spring, all the landscape receives its spring trimming.

Over the years, soil in three of our entry planters has settled (excluding West planter at Mission Ridge). Much of the shrubbery in the planters cannot be seen as one drives down the parkway. The City of Plano has a program where HOA’s can apply for a monetary grant to help offset the costs of certain upgrades. The CHHA Board worked through a four-month process and received approval of a grant to help pay for the planter work. The planters will have several inches of soil added, shrubbery raised, crepe myrtles straightened, and mulch added. This work will be performed in late September ‘25.

I believe Carriage Hills has the most beautiful entrances of any voluntary homeowner’s association in Plano. This can only be achieved due to the generosity of those families who pay their annual dues. Thank you for helping keep our entrances looking so great!

Meet Mark Sternitzke

My family moved to Carriage Hills in June 2001. During these past 23 years, I’ve served on the Board for 11 years. I’ve held many of the positions including President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and now Beautification Chairman. My love for our neighborhood keeps bringing me back to volunteer my time and talents on the Board.
